Posted by: Global Maritime | Date: August 11, 2016

Client: Aecom

Timeline: 2015 - 2016

Global Maritime was engaged by Aecom to provide technical advisory and due diligence services for ElectroGas Malta’s LNG to Power project. This project involved construction of a new gas fired power station, conversion of an existing oil fueled power station, construction of a regasification plant, construction of a jetty, and conversion of an LNG Carrier into an LNG Floating Storage Unit (FSU).

Global Maritime London provided services in support of the procurement, conversion and operation of the LNG FSU Armada Mediterrana, owned by Bumi Armada Berhad. This included provision of technical advice during contracting activities for the supply of the LNG FSU and throughout the life extension, conversion, installation and commissioning phases. The scope also included a review of conversion design documents, installation documents and operational documents.

Global Maritime utilised staff from our Singapore office to provide cost effective site attendance services during the conversion at Keppel Shipyard in Singapore and at Factory Acceptance Tests for critical equipment.

The LNG FSU has been successfully delivered to Malta, connected to its storm mooring system and received its first shipment of LNG in January 2017.
