Global Maritime Floating VAWT (Vertical Axis Wind Turbine)

We have recently done a very exciting study of a floating VAWT (Vertical Axis Wind Turbine)!

The industry is still hard at work to design and develop more flexible and elegant solutions to harvest the wind energy offshore.

Global Maritime are eager to follow this exciting work and are supporting all such efforts with respect to the environment and the future green energy developments.

With great enthusiasm we performed early design analyses; stability, hydrodynamic motion response, structural global analysis, aerodynamic analysis of turbine and partially coupled analysis.

The partially coupled analyses were run in OrcaFlex using a blade load module (Double Multiple Streamtube with a third generation Leishman-Beddoes dynamic stall module) coded by Global Maritime.
