Mark started his sea going career in 1976 sailing on various types of vessels, with six different Companies, rising through the ranks to Captain with BP Shipping. He then became a Mooring Master with Gulf Transfer Services, and moved to Doha in 2006, taking up the position of Operations Manager. Since then he has worked as Senior Marine Surveyor, Marine Pilot for Qatar Petroleum and Harbor Master of Ras Laffan Port.
