Global Maritime is participating in a joint industry project, developing the basis for a major update of the recommended practice DNV-RP-C205, “Environmental conditions and environmental loads” in 2023.

Being DNV’s most widely used recommended practice, this recommended practice is a key reference in several standards dealing with design of both floating and fixed marine structures. It is also emerging as a major reference for guidance on environmental conditions and environmental loads for offshore renewables (wind, wave, tidal, solar) and offshore aquaculture.

Led by our hydrodynamics department in Norway, participation in the JIP will give us early access to new guidance on determination of environmental actions on most types of marine structures. It will also give Global Maritime the opportunity to influence the choice of best design practice, contributing with our long experience with design of offshore structures.
