Floating Wind projects LiDAR buoys

Global Maritime continues to develop our competence within Floating Offshore Wind as we have now supported several projects in South Korea in the early stages of their development.

The early stages of wind farm development requires detailed measurements of the wind in the area which can be done using floating buoys equipped with LiDAR.

Global Maritime has worked closely with Titan Technologies the last year to provide mooring design support, and throughout the summer months of 2020 has been onsite to support the deployment of 3 buoys.

Additionally, Global Maritime has been involved in 2 other Floating Wind projects to support the installation of LiDAR buoys, supporting in the areas of Vessel Suitability and Deployment Supervision.

“Being involved in the important initial phase of the Offshore Wind developments puts Global Maritime in a great position for future Offshore Wind Projects in South Korea and is aligned with our company strategy to increase our renewable energy focus in Asia and specifically within South Korea”  - Hannah Crutchley, Regional Manager APAC.”
