Global Maritime announces important Hywind Scotland milestone

Global Maritime is proud to announce an important milestone for The Hywind Scotland Main Component Exchange Project as the export cable is reconnected and ready to supply power back to Scotland.

Current project status is that two of the floating Hywind Scotland turbines are reconnected to the mooring system and export & IAC cables are pulled back in. The 3rd Floating Wind Turbine is currently being towed back to field with Skandi Vega (DOF, Normand Ferking (Solstad Offshore ASA), Island Vanguard (Island Offshore) and will be reconnected in the coming days.

Since May the project has completed:
·        13 Laydown and pull-in operations of cables
·        21 mooring line disconnection and reconnections
·        8 Towing operations
·        21 Blade lifts
·        7 Nacelle lifts
·        370 Walk 2 Work gangway connections

Offshore commissioning is performed from the Island Diligence utilizing the Walk 2 Work system, project mobilized ROV from Ocean Infinity with support from Ventus, Norwegian Group and Veltec Industrial Services .

The two last floating wind turbines are currently at the Wergeland Group site at Sløvåg finalizing the Main Component Exchange scope. This involves lifting operations with the LR12500 crawler crane supplied by Sarens and relocation operations supported by Tronds Marine Service AS.
