With nearly three decades of experience in the marine and offshore industry, Slawomir brings an exceptional blend of technical expertise and strategic insight. His work spans wind, oil & gas, subsea installations, and includes everything from project management to audits, quality inspections, repairs, and decommissioning.
What inspired you to pursue a role at Global Maritime?
My first interaction with Global Maritime dates back to 2007, whilst conducting sea trials for the Dynamic Positioning 2 System on a fleet of 21 AHTS vessels under construction at the Northern Shipyard in Gdansk. I was immediately impressed by the professionalism and technical expertise of the team. They were meticulously calibrating the ship’s computer systems to integrate seamlessly with all onboard systems. This first meeting made a huge impression on me, the expertise, professionalism and personal culture of the people - it captivated me.
Can you describe your role and responsibilities within the GM team?
My role at Global Maritime is "Renewables Lead Baltic Region." I support clients with business development activities and focus on improving Global Maritime's services in the Baltic Sea region. My responsibilities include identifying potential clients and presenting solutions based on Global Maritime's 45 years of experience. Global Maritime is well regarded in the market, with a track record of numerous successful projects. Our clients consistently appreciate the quality and flexibility of our services, and we have effectively addressed their needs on many occasions through innovative solutions. It is rewarding to contribute to our clients' achievements and observe their satisfaction and progress.
What inspired you to pursue a career in the offshore industry and marine services?
My passion for the marine and offshore industry stems from a deep curiosity about the world, and exploring and discovering new countries, cultures, religions and customs. This field has allowed me to travel extensively. With over 75% of the Earth's surface covered by water, there’s still so much to discover—on the surface, in the depths, and even beneath the seabed.
Water has always fascinated me, and working in this industry gives me the opportunity to explore it meaningfully.
I'm always looking ahead and eager to discover new things, just like Columbus and Magellan, which is why I enjoy working in the industry - it allows me to work on innovative projects, develop new ideas and explore new things. Not many people know what life is like at sea ….. life at sea is unique and demanding, and I’ve come to respect it deeply - perhaps it resonates with me because I’m an Aquarius.
Can you share your experience since joining the Global Maritime team?
I joined the Global Maritime team in the summer of 2024. From the outset, I found myself working alongside knowledgeable professionals possessing expertise in their respective fields. Communication was seamless, and interactions remained courteous, fostering a collaborative environment focused on delivering project satisfaction and achieving optimal outcomes. Over time, working relationships have strengthened, and the company has expanded its partnerships with both existing and new clients. Many clients have continued their collaboration with the company for several years.
In your view, what role does Global Maritime play in accelerating the global energy transition?
Global Maritime plays a vital and responsible role in accelerating the global energy transition, especially within the rapidly expanding marine and offshore renewables markets.
