How has your career evolved at Global Maritime?
As an Offshore Structural Engineer, my career with Global Maritime Indonesia (GMID) began in 2014 as an Engineer and Junior MWS Surveyor. Over the years, I have taken on increasingly technical and operational responsibilities, achieved SOMWS membership, and since 2023 have served as Lead Engineer and Marine Warranty Surveyor in the GMID office.

As GM’s global connectivity has advanced, I’ve experienced firsthand how integrated systems and worldwide collaboration tools have enhanced our ability to operate efficiently across regions. This improved connectivity has enabled our GMID team to work more effectively while staying closely aligned with GM’s global network.
In my role, I have led high‑profile projects, streamlined MWS workflows to improve operational performance, and contributed to stronger collaboration between GMID and our international offices.
Tell us a bit about your current role and what it entails?
My role focuses on overseeing Marine Warranty Survey operations in GMID, ensuring compliance with international standards while providing technical assurance for marine construction and installation projects. I lead project teams, review engineering documentation, and work closely with clients and Global Maritime offices worldwide to deliver safe, efficient solutions.
It’s a demanding role, but always rewarding, and it continually strengthens my passion for the industry. I’m proud to contribute to the work we do.
What inspired you to pursue a career within the industry?
I was inspired to pursue a career in the marine construction and installation industry due to the unique responsibility the MWS role carries. The combination of technical challenges, problem‑solving, and the opportunity to help ensure safe and successful offshore operations drew me in from the beginning.
Over the past 11 years, my understanding of the profession has deepened through extensive project exposure and the strong support system within GM’s collaborative environment. This continuous growth has reinforced my commitment to the MWS discipline.
I chose to build my career in MWS because it allows me to develop while contributing to the industry, and I am proud to be part of a world‑class organisation like Global Maritime.
How did shifts in the industry during 2025 influence your role, and how did you adapt?
With the market remaining slow in recent years, perseverance, flexibility, and a consistent focus on high‑quality standards have been essential. As activity began to pick up again in 2025, I adapted by maintaining strong delivery and technical excellence to support the growing pipeline. My priority has been to sustain this level of quality and reliability, reinforcing client trust and supporting long‑term relationships.
