Global Maritime is proud to have been the marine warranty surveyor for the decommissioning of Kinsale Energy Ltd offshore assets.
The Kinsale Alpha and Bravo platforms were located south of Cork, Ireland in 90m water depth and have now been safely removed by Heerema Marine Contractors.
In total the jackets, topsides and conductors comprised 24,000 tonnes of steel. They were removed by HMC’s Thialf and delivered by barge to Hoondert Services and Decommissioning yard in Vlissingen, for recycling.
These two assets were the largest and most complex of the 35 UK and Irish platforms for which Global Maritime has been MWS since 2019, and we are delighted to have a played a part in such a successful project.
