Final preparations took place over the Christmas period for the decommissioning of Petrogas’s Q1 Halfweg platform. The disused gas platform was successfully removed for recycling over the new year using DEME Group´s recently delivered DP2 jack-up, Apollo. Following damage sustained by the platform during a ship collision on 31st December 2017, the project featured some particularly interesting engineering challenges for all involved. Global Maritime was contracted as marine warranty surveyor, bringing their extensive experience in this specialist sector.

Operating from the London office, they were involved at all stages from damage survey to load-in.

To date Global Maritime has been involved in marine warranty, assurance and contracting on decommissioning projects, totaling over 40 assets, in the offshore oil & gas and wind sectors
