Global Maritime Secures Frame Agreement for Iberdrola’s Saint-Brieuc Offshore Wind Farm

Global Maritime (GM) Consultancy Ltd, a leading marine and engineering consultancy, has been selected by Iberdrola to provide critical Marine Services in support of operations and maintenance (O&M) on the Saint-Brieuc (StB) Offshore Windfarm, the second large-scale offshore wind project in France.

The Saint-Brieuc Offshore Wind Farm, developed by Ailes Marines (AMS) and owned by Iberdrola, is a 496 MW facility located approximately 16 km off the coast of Brittany, France. With a total investment of €2.4 billion, the project aims to generate 1,820 gigawatt hours (GWh) of clean energy annually, which will supply energy to 835,000 people, equivalent to 9% of the total electricity consumption in Brittany. As France’s second large-scale offshore wind farm and the first in Brittany, the Saint-Brieuc project is a landmark step toward achieving the country’s energy transition goals.

As part of this agreement Global Maritime will leverage its extensive experience to deliver a comprehensive range of Marine Services, including vessel inspections and audit services, general marine support, and HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality). The framework also covers marine consultancy, marine warranty surveying, engineering and technical support.

The framework agreement will be managed through GM’s London office, with support from its multidisciplinary teams across Europe, including Spain, Germany, and Norway.

Global Maritime will draw on the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) established with Boslan (part of Accenture) in April 2024 to support the effective delivery of this framework agreement. This strategic collaboration combines a strong track record of relevant project experience, access to highly skilled technical personnel, and in-depth knowledge of Iberdrola’s operational practices and expectations. Boslan has a longstanding relationship with Iberdrola, having delivered a range of marine consultancy and assurance services — including technical advisory support, bidder evaluation for the Saint-Brieuc Offshore Wind Farm, and marine coordination and HSE services.

“We are delighted to have been appointed to this framework agreement by Iberdrola,” said Robert Askins, Country Manager at Global Maritime Consultancy Ltd. “This collaboration underscores our expertise in marine services and our commitment to supporting offshore renewable energy projects.”

Charlie Simcox, UK Marine Lead at Global Maritime, added, “We very much look forward to supporting our clients and their wider joint venture partners, Scottish Power Renewables. This agreement highlights GM’s commitment to supporting the offshore wind sector with high-quality marine expertise.”

Iberdrola commented "We are looking forward to having Global Maritime support the marine services required for the O&M phase of Saint-Brieuc Offshore Windfarm. Their extensive knowledge and experience in the marine industry will be of great benefit to the daily operations of the windfarm."
