Global Maritime (GM) is pleased to announce the successful completion of a significant marine operations campaign at the Biscay Marine Energy Platform (BiMEP), located off the northern coast of Spain.
The project, conducted during the summer season, involved the cleaning of debris and abandoned items and the replacement of multiple subsea connectors at the test site.
The work was executed through a joint venture comprising Global Maritime, Kaleido Logistics, and Northcom Diving, combining expertise in marine engineering, logistics, and subsea intervention to deliver a comprehensive turnkey solution.
Global Maritime’s responsibility within the joint venture included the development of detailed method statements, the execution of all associated engineering studies, and the project management of the offshore operations. The activity required careful planning due to the technical complexity of the subsea tasks and the operational constraints presented by the site’s offshore environment.
Despite these challenges, the operations were completed safely, efficiently, and fully within the client’s specified timeframe and budget.
“This project highlights the strength of our engineering and operational teams, as well as the value of collaborative partnerships,” said Jose Maria Gomez Urgoiti, Spain Country Manager at Global Maritime. “We are proud to have contributed to BiMEP’s continued readiness as a leading European test site for marine energy technologies.”
The successful execution of this campaign reinforces Global Maritime’s capability to deliver high value, technically demanding subsea and marine operations worldwide.
