Global Maritime Joins UN Global Compact as a Participant

Global Maritime Group AS is proud to announce its official participation in the United Nations Global Compact, the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative.

By joining the UN Global Compact, Global Maritime affirms its commitment to responsible business practices and a more sustainable future for the marine and offshore industries.

The UN Global Compact calls on companies worldwide to align their strategies and operations with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption, and to take action in support of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

As a committed participant in the UN Global Compact, Global Maritime is actively reducing emissions across its own operations while supporting the wider maritime industry’s transition to Net Zero. This includes contributing to renewable energy initiatives - particularly in offshore wind - and optimising marine operations to reduce vessel days, fuel consumption, and associated emissions. Shipping decarbonisation is further supported through fuel-saving initiatives, the adoption of alternative fuels, and technical advisory services such as Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) for hybrid and fully electric vessels.

Jonny Logan, CEO of Global Maritime, said: “We are proud to join the UN Global Compact as a formal participant. This step reinforces our long-standing commitment to responsible business practices, sustainability, and human rights. As a global marine and engineering consultancy, we recognise the importance of aligning our operations with the UN’s ten principles and contributing to a more inclusive and sustainable future. We are united in this mission, and look forward to deepening our impact through collaboration, transparency, and innovation.”

Hannah Crutchley, Chief Safety, Sustainability and Compliance Officer at Global Maritime, said: “Joining the UN Global Compact is a key part of Global Maritime’s broader strategy to drive sustainability across the organisation. By aligning with the Compact’s principles and the global effort to combat climate change, we reinforce our commitment to Net Zero by 2050 and support our clients in achieving their own sustainability goals. Our teams are focused on delivering practical solutions that help clients reduce emissions, enhance safety, and improve operational efficiency across the maritime sector.”
