RISERDYN (Riser Analysis Program)
RISERDYN is a frequency domain static/dynamic rigid riser analysis program which is specifically tailored to modelling marine drilling risers. It can be used for analysis of tension leg platforms (TLP), tethers, single anchor leg moorings or any other vertical, narrow offshore structure.
The program uses finite element methods to calculate the riser response to forces created by random seas and currents.
The user is able to define the make-up of the riser in a simple to use wizard where properties are grouped together defining:
- Static, dynamic or vibration modes
- Bottom condition - connected or hung off
- Soil stiffness
- BOP and LMRP height, weight, drag and inertia co-efficient
- Riser section length, outer diameter, wall thickness, subdivisions, density, yield strength, Youngs modulus, weight, drag & inertia co-efficients
- Flex and ball joint elevation, weight and stiffness
- Current depth and speed, wave height, period and vessel motions
