GM4000-D
Global Maritime has been engaged by Yantai Raffles Shipyard (YRS) for carrying
out the detail design of the GM4000-D vessel. The detailed design shall give the
vessel DNV approval for class notations.
GM shall also assist YRS to develop and generate a virtual 3D Digital Mock Up (DMU)
as a platform for the generation of shop/production drawings needed to construct the
vessel.
The work comprises of (in addition to the assistance with the DMU):
- Overall GA drawings
- Overall room layout of equipment and main pipe route/channel
- Overall main pipe and cable routing drawings
- Stability, hydrodynamic and structural analyses and speed versus power
calculations with corrections - Structural design of the hull structure and foundations for equipment required
to be approved by DNV - Pipe schematics for some of the marine systems i.e. ballast, drain, etc.
- Main fire protection divisions
- Assistance in reviewing the marine and electrical systems (P&ID’s and single
line diagram) supplied by SIE - Communicate direct with SIE in order to exchange relevant interface
information required for carrying out the GM’s design tasks - Clarify relevant interface issues with NOV and/or YRS regarding their delivery
of the drilling related equipment and systems
National Oilwell Varco (NOV) have been nominated to be the supplier of all drilling
equipment including the derrick.
Siemens (SIE) have been nominated to be the supplier of all electrical and marine
machinery equipment and also the designers of the marine and electrical systems
required for operating the machinery.
Yantai Raffles Shipyard (YRS) will be responsible for specification, procurement of
equipment and materials in addition to preparing shop and construction drawings for
the construction of the vessel.
GM4000-D is a compact semi-submersible rig intended for the following tasks:
- Drilling
- Well intervention
The main dimensions of the vessel are as follows:
- Overall length:104.5 m
- Overall width:65.0 m
- Height (box bottom):29.25 m
- Height (main deck):36.85 m
- Height of pontoon:9.75 m
- Width of pontoon:13.0m
The service life of the GM4000-D is 20 years.
Class notation:
The vessel will be classified as a column stabilized unit
Position keeping:
The GM4000-D will be equipped as DP Class III Unit.
Codes, rules and regulations:
The GM4000-D will be designed in accordance with relevant design standards for
semi-submersibles given by Det Norske Veritas (DNV), Norwegian Maritime
