Offshore / Ocean Engineer

Job Duties:
Perform a variety of design, analysis and technical reviews for marine structures, primarily for the offshore oil and gas industry. Apply advanced knowledge of ocean engineering and naval architecture principles to provide project management, including complete analysis of fixed and floating offshore structures as well as guidance and engineering support of onsite marine personnel. Responsible for engineering calculations in support of various consultancy studies and global performance assessment of hydrostatic and stability calculations, motion response calculations, stationkeeping, mooring and riser systems, environmental loading (wind, wave, and current), jack-up in-place analysis, etc. Create 3D designs with structural, hydrostatic, and hydrodynamic analysis with model test verification. Conduct third party assessment following specific criteria related to offshore rules and regulations such as the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), Det Norske Veritas (DNV), Lloyds Register, IMO, and MODU codes. Provide naval architecture support to the marine warranty group for document review and technical input on loadout, transportation, and installation operations of the structures. Conduct repairs on offshore structures, timeline studies on rig repairs, review of barge stability lifts and loadouts, umbilical cable installation from rig to underwater unit, sponson analysis review, and sea-fastening design. Interact with clients and market for potential clients in the offshore industry.
Minimal Acceptable Degree:
Master’s Degree
Field of Study:
Naval Architecture, Civil / Structural Engineering, or Ocean Engineering
Minimum Yrs of Experience:
6 months related experience in marine structures, stability, motions, hydrodynamics, mooring engineering, or riser engineering
